Are you still looking for a halloween treat? I have got one for you. I mean, it is not especially a halloween dessert, but i think it suits the occasion with the right decoration… I hope you guys like cheesecake. If you do, you will love this. If not, you will possibly like it as well :D.
The cheese batter is a good classic recipe I found in Dr. Oetker`s book “Cheesecakes”. To make it suitable for halloween, i topped it with oreo crumbles and blueberries. This way it looked black, a good ground for those cute chocolates.
Top with any holiday sweets you like.
Halloween Cheesecake
300 g fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tbsp butter
1 pckt + 5 oreos
75 g (1/3 cup) soft butter
500 g (18 oz) lowfat quark
75 g (1/3 cup) sugar
1 pck vanilla sugar or 1 tsp vanilla extract
5 eggs (divided into egg whites and egg yolks)
75 g (2/3 cup) wheatlet
grated pale of 1 lemon
juice of 1/2 lemon
25 g (2 tbsp) sugar
1 pinch salt
Transfer the frozen blueberries into a bowl. If you use fresh fruit, wash the berries and put them in a bowl as well. Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F).
Cruble all the oreos from the bag. Melt the 2 tbsp of butter in a small saucepan and mix it with the oreo crumbles. Press the mixture down evenly at the bottom of a round 26 cm (10´´) pan. Set aside
Cream the butter in a medium-sized bowl until it becomes fluffy. Add the lowfat quark, 75 g (1/3 cup) sugar, vanilla sugar/ extract, egg yolks, wheatlet lemon pale and lemon juice. Cream untill everything is incorporated well.
Beat the eggwhites with 25 g (2 tbsp) sugar and salt in another bowl until they are stiff. Carefully add the mass to the other ingredients with a whisk.
Transfer the cream into the pan and put the blueberries on top. Crumble the 5 oreos and spread the crumbles onto the cake. Bake for about 60 minutes and let the ceke cool well before serving it.
